Travel, I wanna do you

I had never travelled before. Really, I mean it. Its not that it had been a while and i forgot my travelling times. I had really not gone out with a map in my hand, bunked up beds with strangers, adapted to a city's  transport in the first day, met such amazing people and just lived the life of a traveller until my last few months of stay in Denmark, Stockholm, Malmo, Paris and Berlin. All these places are different and how I recognize them is not through the famous monuments, castles, bridges or towers. I recognize each and every place by the color, the scent, the accents of the people and the glimpse of cultures one gets as they try to explore more. I may not remember the names of the articles in the museums or buildings or the kings who built those castles and all the history behind them but what I am certain I will remember are the sights and glimpses that I recall when I think of these wonderful places. My parents joined me for the Paris trip and that was just the icing on the cake and I was left to wonder how long it had been since we vacationed together!

A traveller is not a traveller if they do not own a DSLR, Canon G series, Panasonic Lumix or any other of the amazing cameras they make these days. I agree and vouch for it. Why should you not capture the moments so clear that each time you see the photos, you relive the moment? But sadly, I do not own one yet so following my analogy, I am still a partial traveller. Inspired by the beautiful glimpses that are still in my memories, I am surely gonna buy one soon. This may involve some savings but lets not get into my personal finance management.

I took some great photos with my sony digital camera in the auto flash mode. I love my camera. Sometimes I get such amazing shots from that lil digi, I just can't believe I took them and then I can't stop staring at them. "This is surely gonna be the album cover of my photo collection on facebook", sounds like an achievement right?  :D Another side of an amazing traveller is the flaunt. Why not share your experiences with the people you love and specially with the photos that speak volumes? Though I agree with this, I cannot get myself to post my photo collection on facebook unless I have been told to do so a zillion times. Either I am too lazy or may be because I crave for the awesome clicks by the awesome cameras.

I was lucky enough to have had travel buddies from the start of the journey each time I travelled. Though I dont know the feel of travelling alone (thanks to my over caring folks), I dont know yet if given a chance, I will enjoy it or not. A Korean friend of mine has been travelling alone for about the same period as me and when asked he sighed as he regrets planning his trips without consulting his friends. Another lone traveller I met was in Berlin. He stayed in the same dorm as me and seemed to be loving his travel. He was from Australia and had taken a few months off from work, just to travel EU. When I travel, I want to see as much of the city as possible (you don't know if you will ever see this place again) and as long as my travel buddies share the same opinion, I have no complains.

My stay in Europe has not ended yet. There is still a month to go. My travel will have to wait until I am done with my exams in Denmark. Did I mention I am an exchange student? Students do not have the time and expenses to take a semester off without any purpose. I would love to come back and travel like my australian dorm mate after my studies but its too early to think about it. Getting back to reality, I will finish some subjects here to lessen my burden and then will be off to the life of a non-exchange student next sem after the Spain and Swiss trip. So, two more travels left before I leave Europe and that makes me so excited and is the reason I felt like putting together my thoughts on TRAVELLING :)
